Decision Support System for technology selection based on multi-criteria ranking: Application to NZEB refurbishment

Refurbishing existing building into Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) is a key objective for the European Union. In order to achieve high rate of conversion, new refurbishment process must allow Decision Makers (DMs) (architects or designers) sort through an ever increasing list technologies while taking account uncertain preferences from multiple stakeholders. A Support System (DSS) based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approaches proposed. The DSS enables DMs browse solutions space by selecting relevant criteria, them and specify granularity in assessment regarding each criteria. This ranking algorithm that operates types quantitative (continuous, discrete, binary) qualitative (nominative ordinal) variables technological human sources. An online user interface allows real-time exploration solution space. sensitivity analysis conducted expose influence parameters demonstrate robustness this algorithm. proposed eventually implemented validated use case concerning choice insulating materials considering heterogeneous criteria model sustainable constraints.
